Customer connection - how to connect with your customers

Customers are the breathing-air to any successful business; without the customer the business is more or less a lifeless entity which is why it is important to note how to interact or connect with your customers, finding ways to continuously show them that you care.

Here are a few ways to connect with your customers and build a long-lasting relationship that will keep them loyal to your business.

Take Feedbacks Seriously

Customers feedbacks is important in building a great customer-connection bond. Information given from your customers about the quality of your product, customer service or any processes or transactions at your company should not be taken for granted. By doing this, you will know what to improve on and also makes the customer feel involved and important.

Follow up

Following up is an easy way to earn customers’ appreciation. No one likes to file a complaint or ask a question, only to hear radio silence. Respond to customers throughout their buying journey so they build a connection with you. This is also a great way to keep your business top of mind for your customers.

If an existing customer purchases a new or unique product, follow up with them to make sure they enjoyed it. Thank customers for doing business with you. Everyone likes to feel acknowledged. Follow-up is also a great way to identify unhappy customers before their unsatisfactory experience ends with a negative review online.

Respond to Mails

So many corporate emails on most companies’ websites are there for fashion. It’s either they are not working and getting a bounce-back each time a mail is sent or one never gets response upon successfully sending a mail. This is so wrong and leaves bad impression with the customer.

Always endeavour to respond to every customer’s mail; this gives the customer a sign of commitment from the business and helps build trust.

Another aspect regarding response to mail is Personalizing Mails. What this means is, try as much as possible to personalize your customer’s mail by mentioning their names, especially when you send mails to all your customers.

Be active on Social Space

Many customers see whether a company has an online presence before they will do business with them. Customers are already scouting for products on social media, hence you should be actively there so they can find you.

Take out time to find the social platform that best suit your product/service, the specific platforms you use will depend on your specific brand and following (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest).

Show Appreciation

Customers want to know you recognize their importance and suggestions; from when they place an order to when they suggest adding a little feature to your existing product, a little “thank-you” does more than you can think of.

Show appreciation to boost your customer’s connection.
