Export Businesses Get Fresh Boost as NAHCO Launches New Handling Facility

Export businesses are expected to become smoother in the shipment value chain as Nigeria’s leading aviation logistic firm, the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, NAHCO, unveil a chain of export processing facility centre across the country starting with Lagos.

The Lagos facility was unveiled yesterday in a landmark event which export traders believe will greatly improve their turnover and possibly cost of handling.

According to the Chairman, NAHCO, Dr. Seinde Fadeni, who spoke at the unveiling ceremony in the Lagos facility, the facility in Lagos was the first of five more to come soon.

He said such centres would be spread across the country to cover all geo-political zones, as they would be developed in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kano to boost Nigeria’s export policy.

Fadeni said the centre would enhance the country’s export drive and standardise the nation’s export processing system.

Specifically the facility, according to exporters, would reduce the turnaround time for delivery of export consignments to the receiving individuals and organisations abroad.

It is noted that one of the major challenges of Nigeria’s export business is the delays in the delivery of products especially agricultural produce which eventually get expired or lose value in transit.
