President Muhammadu Buhari, today flags off the National Young Farmers Scheme at the State House, Abuja. This scheme will be operated under the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, NALDA.
According to the president, “this is part of our efforts to expand and modernize agriculture in Nigeria, and also increase opportunities for youth participation“
President Buhari has also directed that all NALDA’s abandoned farm estates be retrieved to enable thousands of young men and women to be engaged in modern mechanized farming.
“I am confident that, under my watch, Nigeria will achieve food security as we will produce most of what we eat”, said Buhari.
