Be careful … DO NOT shoot yourself in the foot!
Today, you’re excited. Every entrepreneurial hormone in your body is racing through your veins eager to take action, but be warned; you must learn to get your emotions under control.
This is an emotional process.
Passion may easily take over our rational thoughts. When this happens, we can easily sell ourselves that our business idea is the next big thing.
Do NOT shoot yourself in the foot; AVOID selling YOURSELF your idea!
If you want to quit your job and start your own business, start by sharing your idea with as many people as possible. Search for potential users/customers of your product or service — find business coaches, investors, and mentors, talk to them and LISTEN to what they have to say!
AVOID GETTING DEFENSIVE!
When you’re getting feedback on a business idea, let people say everything they want to say. Do NOT interrupt them. Most will make a big effort to help you, so know that if you’re not hearing what you expect, it’s a golden opportunity to LISTEN CAREFULLY to what they’re saying!
DO NOT try to “sell” them on your idea!
Remember … convincing yourself won’t lead to many sales!
A word is enough for the… SMART!
