If there is one thing that SMEs and people who sell stuff online have in common, it’s an obsession about getting more sales/leads and improving their conversion rate.

If that sounds like something that might interest you, then this post is a must read.

Of course, there are a gazillion things to put in place or tweak on your sales process to improve your numbers and grow your business.

But for the sake of ink and time, we’ll be limiting our conversation today to these 5 conversion tips you can use to 3x your results especially this last quarter of the year.

Applying just one out of this 5 powerful tips can single-handedly change the shape of your business for better. So you don’t have to understand or grab or master all 5 of them, just pick the one or two you feel is a good fit for your business and run with it.

So let’s get to it….

1. Conversation Is The New Lead

For starters, a lead is an opportunity to have a conversation with your prospects, give them value, and hopefully you get paid. Before now, getting leads was all about getting email addresses, but that’s changing. Email marketing still works, yes! But you need to start thinking Chat-bots, start driving some traffic to messenger as destination and find ways to incorporate Messenger marketing  into your customer acquisition system.

2. Offer Over Funnels

Take a step back and think about what you’re offering your market right now. Don’t sell products you think people will like, find out exactly what people are actually buying and sell them exactly that. Launch a simple funnel first, prove that it works, once you’re making money, then blow it up.

3. Third Person Testimonials

Story sells. Stand-alone pre-sell sales page story-line that comes from a customer describing their journey and how good your product is, always SELLS BETTER.  This strategy was key for us to cracking the N1M per day consistent sales with Fb ads.

Why does it work so well? simple! The way it’s structured makes prospects chase you (attraction marketing) and not the other way round – that’s why it works because they don’t feel like they are getting sold.

4. Sales compartmentalization

Don’t let the big grammar scare you! ️

It’s a pretty simple concept tho and I’ll explain.

You want to make your prices like that of hotels and airlines especially if you sell physical products. Offer different packages. Supposing you sell 1pack of weight loss detox tea for N12,000, you set up a package where you’re offering 2packs for N21,000, you can also offer 3packs and a special gift for N27,000.

Just be creative.

Hence, With the same cost of ads, sales call, packaging etc you’re creating upside leverage for your business.

5. The Two-Way Bridge

Don’t limit your business. Just because you are into e-commerce doesn’t mean you can’t offer your customers an info product that solves a pain point for them.

If someone buys a diabetes supplement for instance, they will likely be open to buying more diabetes related offers. it doesn’t matter if that product comes in physical or digital form.

It’s not a subjective guess, it’s an objective fact!

If you sell physical products, offer buyers info-products as an upsell, cross-sell or down-sell. They will buy.

If you’re into info product, think of ways you can add up physical products to your biz model.

Done right, This alone can add up to N500k-N5M to your bottom-line in a year.

That’s it.

Hope you picked up something cool.

More also I want you to try and implement at least one of these stuffs in your business ASAP. Fast action is key. The sooner you act, the sooner you get feedback and the sooner you know if that idea works/not.

Speak soon.

  1. Hi Abbey,
Yet another great post. very compelling.
I must admit that you have done a great job coming up with this article.
I love the 3rd point you raised.
Getting third party testimonial is a surefire way of busting sales. It is called Social Proof. Once you get customers testimony for your product or service sales will jump to the roof.
but a caution note here though, this testimonials need to be genuine not fake or fabricated, if potential customers find your testimonials to be fabricated. The reputation of the business is destroyed.
thanks once Again for the great work.
    keep it Up!
