150 Entrepreneurs to Receive UNDP Training

The UNDP is to train 150 entrepreneurs on skills to lay foundation for long-term developments in the Northeast region affected by Boko Haram insurgency for eight years.

Country Director of the UN agency, Samuel Bwalia disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri.

He said that the trainees are drawn from the insurgency affected states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.

According to him, for the trained entrepreneurs effectively apply the acquired skills and make a living out of them, additional entrepreneurial skills are needed.

“Victims of Boko Haram insurgency could secure their future through alternative means of livelihood after training and beyond humanitarian handouts,” said Bwalia in the statement.
